BikeBot is a bicycle advocacy organization. Our mission is to encourage growth in our nation’s bicycle communities. BikeBot is starting as a small organization in Austin, TX, the heart of the state’s most popular cycling city.
The inspiration to hop on your ride here is infectious. We asked ourselves, “Why is the need to cruise here so strong?” The answer is obvious. The community is strong and prevalent. Looking around we see cyclists cruising two by two, three by three and in packs. Bike racks are maxed out. There are riders cycling to work, from work, to gatherings, parties, on dates and to the bars. There are cyclists toting laptop bags, backpacks and yoga mats, rear racks carrying bags of groceries, messenger bags and even the occasional puppy dog co-pilot along for the ride.
In this bike lovin’ town, it is not just socially acceptable to ride everywhere, but it has become an Austin standard of transportation. Our community is full of cycling groups, social rides, grassroots organizations and underground clubs. As the old saying goes, “the more the merrier.” This simple phrase is the foundation of our mission and our vision’s battle cry.
